NABC® Recycled Rides®

How can I qualify for a NABC Recycled Ride®?

All candidates for a vehicle must be nominated by a qualified 501(C)(3) charitable organization, a government organization or a military support organization, like the VA, that the candidate has been working with for other needs, that knows them well and is familiar with their situation. If you are a qualified charity or service organization, you can contact the NABC for a nomination from at NABCgifting@nationalautobodycouncil.org.

Team Up With Your Industry Partners To Repair And Donate Vehicles

In November of 2024, the National Auto Body Council® celebrated its 30th anniversary. The members of the NABC®, under the umbrella of the NABC® Recycled Rides® program, since its inception in 2007, have changed and saved thousands of lives with the presentation of more than 3,750 vehicles to veterans, military families, single mothers and others in need of reliable transportation.

Most of us take transportation for granted. But for many people, routine activities such as going to work, taking kids to school, grocery shopping and medical visits are a challenge. A catastrophic illness or unforeseen circumstances can suddenly change lives and without transportation, make it difficult to get back on the road to stability.

Through NABC® Recycled Rides®, NABC® members can play an important role to help open doors to better opportunities, employment, enriched quality of life and increased self-esteem.

NABC® members are in a unique position to change and save lives by teaming up with collision industry colleagues to refurbish and donate vehicles to individuals and service organizations in need. This collaboration of businesses representing all facets of the collision industry – insurers, collision repairers, paint suppliers, parts vendors and others – has resulted in more than 3,750 vehicles valued at more than $67 million donated in local communities across the country. The average value of gifted vehicles is $18,000.

Kathleen (Kelle) Elmes receiving her NABC Recycled Rides vehicle at the Furry Scurry event in Port Charlotte, FL on February 21, 2026

I drove my beautiful car home from the wonderful event today at the Furry Scurry. I am so grateful and quite overwhelmed. Thank you so very much. This is the first time in years my dogs have been in a car with air conditioning. They loved it and I wasn't stressed it was too hot. What a relief! Thank you to all who worked to make this possible. I keep going outside to look at it. Sincerely,

Dear NABC®, Agile for Patriots, Npower, Allstate, and Texas Collision Center, I am writing to extend my deepest gratitude for the incredible donation and restoration of my beautiful 2021 Chevy Blazer. Your generosity has profoundly impacted my life and the opportunities available to me. This vehicle will serve a vital role in my pursuit of career advancement and community involvement. With the Chevy Blazer, I will be able to attend career fairs, secure internships, and engage in volunteer work more efficiently. It will also allow me to mentor others by providing reliable transportation for meetings and events where I can share my experiences and support others in their professional journeys. Thank you for making this possible and for your continued support of individuals striving to better their lives and the lives of others. Your contributions do not go unnoticed, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunities this vehicle will open up for me. I really enjoyed speaking with all of you and my heart is overflowing! With heartfelt appreciation,
