PORT CHARLOTTE, FL (April 18, 2024) – On April 17, a U.S. Navy veteran living in Sedro-Woolley, Washington experienced a life-changing event – the presentation of  a vehicle to provide her the ability to get to work and to meet the transportation needs of her family – thanks to the National Auto Body Council Recycled Rides® program, along with car donor Allstate and collision repair partner CARSTAR Parkland Collision.

NABC®, Allstate and CARSTAR Parkland Collision presented a completely refurbished 2018 Ford Explorer to Melissa Marrs, who served eight years in the U.S. Navy, earning numerous medals and commendations. The Marrs family lost their house in a fire and are currently lodging in the Family Promise shelter program while they wait for their house repairs to be finished. The donated vehicle will enable her to get to work and to meet the needs of her family.
