PORT CHARLOTTE, FL (May 18, 2024) – The widow of a fallen soldier experienced a life-changing event – the presentation of a vehicle to provide her and her daughter the ability to get to work and family appointments – thanks to the National Auto Body Council Recycled Rides® program, along with car donor GEICO and repair partner ProColor Collision.

NABC®, GEICO and ProColor Collision Greensboro West presented a fully refurbished 2013 Honda CRV to Amy Dozier.

Sgt. Jonathan Dozier made the ultimate sacrifice in service to his country 16 years ago when he and fellow soldiers were killed by an IED in Iraq.  He left behind his wife Amy and a young daughter.  Their daughter is active in band and art and is looking at colleges now.  Transportation has been a big challenge for both mother and daughter. This gift will ease the financial stress on the family.

From the driver’s seat of her refurbished car, Amy Dozier said she was speechless, but she managed to tell the local television news cameras, “I’m so thankful for the entire community that has shown up for my family.  It’s humbling.”
