PORT CHARLOTTE, FL (October 11, 2025) – On Tuesday, October 7, a young Indiana mother received a life-changing gift—the donation of a beautifully refurbished vehicle to help as she cares for her young child. The donation was made possible by the NABC Recycled Rides® program, vehicle donor Travelers and repair partner Caliber Collision. The presentation took place at the Caliber Collision Downtown in Indianapolis.

Alex Ball has shown resilience and courage far beyond her years. Since becoming a part of Family Promise, she has had a remarkable transformation. When Ball learned she was pregnant, she made a promise to herself and her child that she would build a better life for them. She was determined to be an amazing mom to her young son. Every step Ball has taken has been with his future in mind. Through it all she remains positive and never complains. Ball has had her vehicle for many years and, though she is very attached to it, it is in poor condition. It is extremely difficult to get her son in and out of his car seat, the floorboards are rusting out and the seats are barely functional. This refurbished vehicle from NABC Recycled Rides® will allow Ball to have peace of mind knowing that her and her son are in a safe vehicle. She has already proven her commitment to building a better future and hopefully this vehicle will help her as she takes her next step to a better life.
The recipient was nominated by Family Promise Hendricks County. Family Promise helps families facing homelessness by providing secure, stable housing through safe shelter, caring connections and a community of support.
Travelers, a level one member of the NABC®, has donated over 80 vehicles to people and organizations in need through the NABC Recycled Rides® program.
Caliber Collision, also a Level One partner, has refurbished more than 600 vehicles for military service members, veterans and other individuals in need of reliable transportation over the last 12 years through the NABC Recycled Rides® program. All Caliber locations are I-CAR Gold Certified repair facilities.

ABOUT THE NATIONAL AUTO BODY COUNCIL®
The National Auto Body Council® is the premier organization of collision industry partners dedicated to strategic networking opportunities that positively change lives in the communities we serve. The collaborative membership of the National Auto Body Council® has gifted more than 3,500 vehicles and provided extrication opportunities for some 6,000 First Responders in communities around the country through NABC Recycled Rides® and NABC First Responder Emergency Extrication (F.R.E.E.™). That effort equates to a 4:1 ROI in dollar value delivered from NABC® membership dollars.
The NABC Changing and Saving Lives Foundation, a 501c3 organization, is committed to the goal of driving change for veterans, military members, first responders and families in need, while harnessing the power of the collective membership of the collision repair industry to positively impact communities where we live and work. As demand for NABC® programs like NABC Recycled Rides® and NABC F.R.E.E.™ grows, so do the needs for resources to manage these important programs. Being able to pursue grants, gifts and donations allows NABC to expand these programs to serve those in need and help communities where we live and work.
