Presentation of the NABC Recycled Ride® Took Place June 17 at the Crash Champions in Wichita, KS

PORT CHARLOTTE, FL (June 22, 2026) – On Wednesday, June 17, a Wichita, KS, area woman in need received a life-changing gift—the donation of a beautifully refurbished vehicle as she works to achieve her goals for a successful life. The donation was made possible by the NABC Recycled Rides® program, vehicle donor Allstate and repair partner Crash Champions.
The presentation took place at the Crash Champions in Wichita, KS. The recipient was nominated by STEPMC. Steps to End Poverty in McPherson County was founded in 2010 by a group of passionate leaders in the city of McPherson, KS, who were dedicated to fighting poverty and inspired by the power that relationships had in that fight.
“It was truly an honor to share the experience with this young lady today,” said Maggie Beekman of Allstate. “I want to thank everyone for such a moving and memorable day. I also want to extend my appreciation to the NABC and Crash Champions who worked so hard to make it happen and make it so special.”
A 2023 Jeep Compass, donated by Allstate and refurbished by the technicians at Crash Champions in Wichita, KS, was presented to Samantha Rickerson. Sheis hard working and dedicated to her job but needs reliable transportation to get to work. Rickerson grew up in McPherson, KS, with a single mother. Her family moved around a lot and her mother worked her hardest to put food on the table for them. Rickerson knew generational poverty and after graduating high school, she made the choice to not be like some people in her circle who were suffering with addiction issues. She moved in with a friend who helped her learn life skills. Because of her friend, Rickerson was able to save up enough money to get a place of her own. She joined STEPMC last year to learn about the 11 resources they teach as well as to be part of a support group. Rickerson was able to get a stable job and is gaining independence and working to build her resources. This refurbished vehicle from the NABC Recycled Rides® program will help her achieve another goal as she continues her path to success.

Crash Champions, also a Level One partner of the National Auto Body Council®, has gifted more than 250 vehicles to people and organizations through NABC Recycled Rides®.
