PORT CHARLOTTE, FL (October 1 , 2025) – On Tuesday, September 30, two Denver-area mothers each received life-changing gifts—the donation of beautifully refurbished vehicles to help them as they care for their families.  The donations were made possible by the NABC Recycled Rides® program, vehicle donors GEICO and Travelers and repair partners CARSTAR Axiom Collision Repair and the Abra Auto Body Repair of America location in Ft. Collins/Greely.

Tammy Handley and Jessica Montour receiving their NABC Recycled Rides vehicles - a 2024 Nissan Rogue SV and a 2019 Honda CRV

A 2024 Nissan Rogue SV was generously donated to Tammy Handley by GEICO and refurbished by the technicians of Abra Auto Body Repair of America in Ft. Collins/Greely.  And a 2019 Honda CRV was donated to Jessica Montour by Travelers and refurbished by the technicians of CARSTAR Axiom Collision Repair.  The presentations took place at the Sheraton Denver Downtown as part of the Driven Brands Conference.  Driven Brands is the largest automotive services company in North America, providing services like paint, collision, and car wash, with over 4,400 locations.  Fix Auto USA “stuffed the trunk” of each vehicle with various items for the families of the recipients.

“This has become a great tradition to gift NABC Recycled Rides® vehicles with our collision brands at our Driven Brands Conference,” said Sabrina Thring, president of Driven Brands Collision and NABC Board of Directors member.  “It’s even more special to present them to two local Cystic Fibrosis families who need reliable transportation for medical appointments, work and school.”

Tammy Handley is a devoted mother of three boys, including two teenagers living with Cystic Fibrosis.  She is a single mother who manages her family with minimal support and unwavering strength.  Despite dealing with her own medical challenges, Handley remains steadfast in her role as a caregiver, never complaining and always putting her children first.  Her teenage sons are frequently hospitalized at Children’s Hospital Colorado in Denver, over an hour away from their home.  She works multiple jobs as a Certified Nursing Assistant, working overnight shifts at two additional sites just to make ends meet.  Handley’s only vehicle was destroyed in a car accident and now must rely on borrowed vehicles to get her children to their medical appointments.  This refurbished vehicle from NABC Recycled Rides® will allow her to continue working and caring for her family’s medical needs.

Jessica Montour is a mother of two and must travel over three hours from her home to Children’s Hospital Colorado several times a year so her five-year-old daughter can receive treatment for Cystic Fibrosis.  Her daughter has touched the hearts of the Children’s Hospital clinic team as they have watched her grow up through the years.  Montour works tirelessly to advocate for her daughter’s health and well-being.  She must work diligently to allow her children to continue learning and to enjoy activities like camping, swimming and taking piano lessons.  A refurbished vehicle from NABC Recycled Rides® will allow Montour to maintain her daughter’s clinic appointments and to help her children attend their desired activities.

“What this means for me and my family is that we will have a more reliable vehicle to get my kids where they need to go and it will ensure their health and safety,” said Tammy Handley following the presentation of her newly refurbished vehicle.  “It means the world to me right now as far as timing because my son is in ICU, and I can be there for him and not have to rely on shuttles and have to run around and try to figure things out.  It’s a blessing.”

“This is amazing, it will help us so much as we go back and forth across the slopes to get to my daughter’s doctors’ appointments,” said Jessica Montour after receiving her refurbished vehicle.

The recipients were nominated by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  Driven Brands has a long partnership with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is the world’s leader in the search for a cure for Cystic Fibrosis and supports a broad range of research initiatives to tackle the disease from all angles.
