Teacher in Need of Reliable Transportation Receives a Refurbished Vehicle from NABC® Members American Family and Gerber Collision through the NABC Recycled Rides® Program

The NABC Recycled Rides® Presentation Took Place Recently at a Brewers Spring Training Game.

PORT CHARLOTTE, FL  (March 9, 2025) – On Saturday, March 1, just before the Milwaukee Brewers-Texas Rangers game, a dedicated elementary school teacher in need of transportation was presented a beautifully refurbished vehicle to solve her transportation needs – thanks to the NABC Recycled Rides® program along with car donor American Family and repair partner Gerber Collision and Glass. The presentation took place at American Family Fields in Phoenix.

American Family and Gerber Collision & Glass presented a fully refurbished 2019 Honda Civic to Robert Keegan, an elementary school teacher who has had to deal with homelessness, domestic violence and lack of convenient transportation.

Keegan works with a case manager on the issues of suitable housing, regular employment and other obstacles that have been thrown in his path.

The gift of a NABC Recycled Rides® will go a long way in Keegan’s quest for full-time employment as an educator, becoming fully independent and able to give back to his community.  Keegan was nominated for the program by Autumn House Emergency Crisis Shelter.

NABC Recycled Rides® is a unique program in which businesses representing all facets of the collision repair industry team up to repair and donate vehicles to individuals and families in need of reliable transportation. Since the inception of the NABC Recycled Rides® program in 2007, members of the National Auto Body Council® have donated more than 3,500 vehicles valued at some $51 million.

Additional partners in the NABC Recycled Rides® presentation included Glass America, Mobile Auto Solutions, Advanced Remarketing Services, Cars for Charity, and Copart.
