PORT CHARLOTTE, FL (March 9, 2026) – On Friday, March 6, a United States Navy veteran and mother received a gift that dreams are made of—the donation of a beautifully refurbished vehicle as she works towards independence and opportunity for her family. The donation was made possible by the NABC Recycled Rides® program, vehicle donor Allstate and repair partner Fix Auto South San Diego.

The presentation took place at the Fix Auto South San Diego tucked between the bay and the border. The recipient was nominated by My Veterans Place Savannah, Inc. My Veterans Place Savannah provides housing assistance, resources and mental health support to help veterans thrive, connect and rebuild their lives with dignity.

A 2025 Subaru Forester, donated by Allstate and refurbished by the technicians at Fix Auto South San Diego, was presented to Samara Scarver. Sheis a veteran of the United States Navy, having served from 2009-2016. She is also the mother of three beautiful children and has no vehicle. Samara must rely on the trolley or costly ride sharing companies for all her essential needs. This makes it difficult to get to work, medical appointments, and the grocery store, while also limiting her children’s ability to participate in extracurricular activities after school. This refurbished vehicle from the NABC Recycled Rides® program will ease these hardships, give her independence and allow her children greater opportunities.
“I knew it was going to be hard and I was willing to do that with no complaints and God just showed up,” said recipient Samantha Scarver. “Literally, before I got the call saying whether I got the car or not, I had just prayed about it. My kids want to be in sports, and I knew I needed a reliable car. Now we can concentrate on buying a home.”
Allstate, a Level One partner of the National Auto Body Council®, has donated more than 300 vehicles to people and organizations through the NABC Recycled Rides® program, making it one of the largest vehicle donor partners of NABC Recycled Rides®.
Fix Auto USA is part of the Driven Brands family of automotive brands, and Fix Auto Alameda is an I-CAR Gold Certified repair facility.
Additional partners in this presentation include: Sherwin Williams, Advanced Remarketing Services, Copart, Cars for Charity and Enterprise.
