PORT CHARLOTTE, FL (November 19, 2025) – On Wednesday, November 19, a Memphis mother received the gift of reliable transportation—this beautifully refurbished vehicle will help her as she attempts to provide her children with a more stable life. The donation was made possible by the NABC Recycled Rides® program, vehicle donor Allstate and repair partner Carey’s Body Shop.
The presentation of a 2021 Jeep Cherokee Laredo, fully refurbished by the team at Carey’s Body Shop, took place at the Pinnacle Financial Partners office located in Memphis, TN. Pinnacle Financial Partners, which is a level one member of the NABC®, provides a full range of banking, investment, trust, mortgage and insurance products and services designed for businesses and their owners and individuals interested in a comprehensive relationship with their financial institution.

The recipient was nominated by The Women’s Advocacy Center. The Women’s Advocacy Center’s mission is to empower and support survivors of domestic abuse, sexual assault and stalking in rural and suburban communities by showing them the love of God.
“It is so important that the women we serve have transportation, to create stability for them and their families,” said Romona Jackson, Founding President and CEO of the Women’s Advocacy Center. “Transportation helps them get their children to school, get to the grocery store, to work—things that we often take for granted. We are grateful to the National Auto Body Council and all its members to provide this vehicle to a family that we serve. as it will not only help them in their time of need but in the daily lives.”
Chanielle Talbird is mother to two handsome boys and a sweet little girl. In 2023, she not only experienced the loss of transportation but endured physical violence that resulted in a traumatic and abrupt separation from her ex-husband. Recovering from that experience, she had planned to graduate from a nursing program in hopes of obtaining gainful employment to provide for her and her three children. Her eldest son, however, was a high school senior and dreamt of attending the University of Tennessee in Knoxville as an Engineering major. Talbird was faced with a decision to choose either her education or her son’s. She made the decision to forfeit nursing school and find a job to support his dream of going to college away from home. Talbird eventually found herself at the Women’s Advocacy Center where she took advantage of the programs they had to offer, gained confidence and courage to secure a new and higher paying position, move into her own place and provide stability for her family. She currently has steady employment and is piloting a new state-funded program that requires her to travel to clients’ homes, some of which are in lower-income neighborhoods in Memphis. This refurbished vehicle from the NABC Recycled Rides® program will be an excellent investment, not only in Chanielle and her children, but will allow her to continue investing in other people through the Opening Doors program.
“This beautiful vehicle will mean so much to me and my children,” said Talbird. “We have been
struggling with car issues for the last two years and it has been such a challenge for me to get to work but thankfully with this gift I will be able to stabilize my employment and my children will have a better future.
