“This is such a beautiful gift because we had to take buses, rideshares and even had to walk to get to Zakki’s medical appointments,” said recipient Stephanie Middleton.  “Not having a reliable vehicle was tough and exhausting on him.  This will help so much because he will now have more energy to stay mobile and do other things.”

A 2024 Honda HR-V Sport, donated by Allstate and refurbished by the technicians at Faulkner Collision Center of South Philadelphia, was presented to Stephanie Middleton.  Sheis the mother of two wonderful children.  Her son, Zakki, has disabilities caused by congenital heart defects that resulted in him having a stroke shortly after birth 32 years ago.  Zakki has since had 29 surgeries, 17 of them on his heart.  Stephanie provides around-the-clock care for him.   The love she has for both her children is what keeps her going, but it is far from easy.  Lacking a reliable vehicle can be dangerous for her, especially if the critical need for immediate medical attention should arise.  This refurbished vehicle from the NABC Recycled Rides® program will allow Stephanie to get to crucial medical appointments for Zakki, while also fulfilling household duties and assisting in his care.  It will also give her peace of mind, knowing she has a reliable vehicle as she works hard every day.

Allstate, a Level One partner of the National Auto Body Council®, has donated more than 300 vehicles to people and organizations through the NABC Recycled Rides® program, making it one of the largest car donor partners of NABC Recycled Rides®.

Faulkner Collision Center, a member of Certified Collision Group (CCG) is an I-CAR Platinum Certified repair facility and has refurbished dozens of vehicles for people in need throughout eastern Pennsylvania through the NABC Recycled Rides® program.
