PORT CHARLOTTE, FL (December 2, 2025) – On Tuesday, December 2, an Orlando veteran received the gift of reliable transportation—this beautifully refurbished vehicle will assist in her mission to help those who are less fortunate. The donation was made possible by the NABC Recycled Rides® program, vehicle donor GEICO and repair partner Gerber Collision & Glass.
The gifting, hosted by The Boyd Group, took place at the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel as part of the annual Boyd Group Leadership Conference. The 2025 Boyd Group Leadership Conference is a premier event for business professionals leading shop operations within The Boyd Group’s extensive network of collision repair centers in North America. Across the span of three days, attendees will have the opportunity to network and engage with one another, hear from industry leaders and celebrate accomplishments from 2025.

The recipient was nominated by One Heart for Women and Children. One Heart for Women and Children is an Orlando-based nonprofit organization that provides essential resources, including food, clothing, and support services, to individuals and families facing hardship.
“Today, I was gifted a beautiful car, it’s absolutely stunning and I’m so excited,” said recipient Cindy Underwood. “This has changed my life instantly in three ways: first, I have always believed that we are self-supporting through our own contributions, but there comes a time that in order to maintain that you need a little help up, secondly, my car has been so bad that my world has been narrowed to just 10 square miles because I was fearful I would have a breakdown and, most importantly, I can put my grandchildren in the car and take them places now.”
A 2021 Ford Escape SE, donated by GEICO and refurbished by the technicians at Gerber Collision & Glass, was presented to Cindy Underwood. Sheis a United States Air Force Veteran who served as a language specialist from 1977-1979. She currently works at One Heart for Women and Children. Cindy has been a pillar of the organization – the kind of person whose dedication and heart ripple through everything they do. Cindy is one of those rare souls who shows up for others in every way she can. Lately, her vehicle has become unreliable, breaking down multiple times and leaving her stranded. Cindy’s work requires her to be everywhere: meeting with partners, supporting clients, attending events, and continuing her vital behind-the-scenes efforts for the organization. Reliable transportation will not just ease her day-to-day challenges – it will empower her to keep doing what she does best: changing lives. Helping her means strengthening the very foundation of the organization and ensuring that the support she provides to others is returned to her in a meaningful way. This gift of reliable transportation from the NABC Recycled Rides® program is truly a full-circle moment – a chance to give back to someone who has given so much of herself. It will allow her to continue making a life-changing difference in the lives of others, while also reminding her that she is seen, valued, and deeply appreciated.
