ORLANDO, FL – December 15, 2023 – On December 14, an Orlando area single mother experienced a life-changing event – the presentation of a vehicle to provide her independence and the ability to take of her family – thanks to the National Auto Body Council Recycled Rides® program along with car donor Travelers and collision repair partner Classic Collision. Local Travelers employees raised more than $3,600 for the recipient.
The presentation was held at Classic Collision in Orlando and the deserving recipient, Sherly Marc, was nominated by Jobs Partnership LifeWorks. Sheryl, who received a beautifully refurbished 2018 Hyundai Tucson, is a Spring 2023 Jobs Partnership LifeWorks graduate. Since Sherly did not have a car, she paid for ride shares, rode the bus and asked friends for rides so she could better herself and her children through the LifeWorks program. Her hard work and dedication paid off when was hired as a Patient Care Technician. She works full time to take care of her two small children. When asked how having a car would impact her life, she said that having a car will have a huge impact on her life and career.
“This is the light in the dark for me,” said Sheryl. “Thanks so much to each organization who gave this car to me. I will take good care of it.,”
