PORT CHARLOTTE, FL  (March 3, 2025) – On Friday, February 28, a decorated veteran of the U.S. Navy experienced a life-changing event – the presentation of a vehicle to give her the ability to get to and from work, take care of her four children and be active in her community – thanks to the National Auto Body Council Recycled Rides® program along with car donor Travelers and collision repair partner Caliber Collision. The presentation took place at the I-CAR National Conference in Houston.

Clydesley Shepherd receiving her beautifully refurbished 2021 Chevy Trailblazer

NABC®, Caliber and Travelers presented a beautifully refurbished 2021 Chevy Trailblazer to Clydesley Shepherd, a U.S. Navy veteran and single mother with four children. The gift of this vehicle is already making a huge difference in the lives of this veteran and her family. She had been depending on expensive rideshares for work, appointments, shopping and her children’s events. Shepherd now looks forward to spending more time with her children, becoming more involved in the community, and taking an active role again in her church.  Most of all, the NABC Recycled Rides® vehicle is contributing to creating a stable life for the Shepherd family.

I-CAR, the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair, works closely with NABC® on training and other resources for the automotive repair industry.

NABC Recycled Rides® is a unique program in which businesses representing all facets of the collision repair industry team up to repair and donate vehicles to individuals and families in need of reliable transportation. Since the inception of the NABC Recycled Rides® program in 2007, members of the National Auto Body Council® have donated more than 3,500 vehicles valued at some $51 million.

Additional partners in the NABC Recycled Rides® presentation included Advanced Remarketing Services, Cars for Charity, Copart, and Enterprise.
