PORT CHARLOTTE, FL (November 24, 2025) – A Tucson, AZ firefighter recently received the gift of reliable transportation—this beautifully refurbished vehicle will help him as he travels over 120 miles to and from his shifts at a local fire department.  The donation was made possible by the NABC Recycled Rides® program, vehicle donor GEICO and repair partner Caliber Collision.

The presentation took place at the 5th Annual Rockin’ 4 Heroes Concert in Oro Valley, AZ.  The concert honors and celebrates first responders, active military, veterans and Gold Star families.  Thousands were in attendance for one of Southern Arizona’s premier community events to say thank you to those who serve and protect.  The vehicle was presented to the recipient’s mother as he received late orders to attend a mandatory training and could not be in attendance for the gifting.

A 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Touring L, donated by GEICO and refurbished by the technicians at Caliber Collision, was presented to Julian Mills.  He is a dedicated first-year firefighter who commutes over 120 miles from his home in Tucson to work in Sells, AZ.  Mills does this journey several times a week in an older vehicle with over 120,000 miles on it.  A truck which needs costly repairs.  This refurbished vehicle from the NABC Recycled Rides® program will be a transformative gift, allowing Mills to have a reliable vehicle as he begins his career as a first responder.

GEICO, a Level One partner of the National Auto Body Council®, has donated more than a thousand vehicles to people and organizations through NABC Recycled Rides, making it the largest car donor partner of NABC Recycled Rides.

Caliber Collision, also a Level One partner of the NABC®, has donated more than 650 vehicles to military service members, veterans and other individuals in need of reliable transportation over the last 12 years.  All Caliber locations are I-CAR Gold Certified repair facilities.

NABC Recycled Rides® is a unique program in which businesses representing all facets of the collision repair industry team up to repair and donate vehicles to individuals and families in need of reliable transportation.  Since the inception of the NABC Recycled Rides® program in 2007, members of the National Auto Body Council® have donated more than 3,500 vehicles valued at some $51 million.
