The NABC Recycled Rides® Presentation Took Place Recently in Turnersville, New Jersey.
PORT CHARLOTTE, FL (March 13, 2025) – On Wednesday, March 5, a disabled U.S. Army veteran received a life-changing gift, a beautifully refurbished vehicle he can use to support his family and to get to medical appointments — thanks to the NABC Recycled Rides® program along with car donor GEICO and collision repair partner Moppert Auto Collision, an I-CAR Gold Certified repair facility. The presentation took place at the Moppert collision center in Turnersville, New Jersey.
Jon Winston served with distinction as a company supply sergeant for four years in the U.S. Army, followed by service in the U.S. Army Reserves. In his service time, he assisted in property accountability, monitoring all sensitive items and unit inventories, and also maintained his unit’s arms room. It was a full plate of responsibilities that earned him commendations. The fully refurbished 2021 Kia Sportage LX will assist him with medical appointments and will also allow him to provide rides to his brother and mother.
Winston was nominated for the NABC Recycled Rides® program by the New Jersey Veterans Network, GEICO is the largest donor of vehicles to the NABC Recycled Rides® program, having donated more than 1000 vehicles since 2007.
Moppert was founded 49 years ago and now operates four collision centers in New Jersey and Delaware. Moppert has been a family-owned business since the start.
NABC Recycled Rides® is a unique program in which businesses representing all facets of the collision repair industry team up to repair and donate vehicles to individuals and families in need of reliable transportation. Since the inception of the NABC Recycled Rides® program in 2007, members of the National Auto Body Council® have donated more than 3,500 vehicles valued at some $51 million.
Additional partners in the NABC Recycled Rides® presentation included LKQ, Midas, Next Gen, Advanced Remarketing Services, Cars for Charity, Copart, and Enterprise.
