PORT CHARLOTTE, FL (December 28, 2024) – Recently, two Southern California women each experienced a life-changing event—the presentation of vehicles to provide them independence, a way to work and access to services–thanks to the National Auto Body Council Recycled Rides® program along with car donor GEICO and repair partner Kaizen Collision Center.

Alesha Duchesne receiving her beautifully refurbished 2020 Subaru Impreza

NABC®, GEICO and Kaizen Collision presented a beautifully refurbished 2020 Subaru Impreza to Alesha Duchesne, a hard worker who always strives to help others in any way she can. Her previous vehicle needed more repairs than the vehicle was worth, and she could not afford to pay for these repairs, nor was she able to afford a new vehicle. She is employed full-time and getting to work has been very difficult. Obtaining this NABC Recycled Rides® donated vehicle has already relieved the stress of figuring out how to get to work and how to meet her daily living needs.

Savannah Brown receiving her beautifully refurbished 2023 Honda Civic EX

NABC®, GEICO and Kaizen Collision also presented a beautifully refurbished 2023 Honda Civic EX to Savannah Brown, another hardworking individual who needs transportation that she can rely on. She has not had a working vehicle as the cost of repairs was beyond what she can afford outright.  Brown has a retail job and is an active member of Riverside County’s Youth Action Board (YAB), currently serving as its chairperson elect.  In that role, she is responsible for attending community resource events and board meetings that  take place in cities all over Riverside County. The NABC Recycled Rides® vehicle will ensure that she has reliable transportation to all her professional obligations and will provide the stability and peace of mind she needs to continue maintaining her daily mission of helping others.

Duchesne and Brown were nominated for the NABC Recycled Rides® donated vehicles by Operation SafeHouse, an organization that provides shelter and other assistance to youth in crisis.

Kaizen Collision Center started as a one-man garage eleven years ago, and now has nearly 50 locations throughout the Midwest and West. Early in 2024, Kaizen became a subsidiary of Kinderhook Industries, LLC, whose goal is to build on the tremendous growth Kaizen has achieved, while creating the best working environment for its employees and exceptional repair experiences for its partners and customers.

NABC Recycled Rides® is a unique program in which businesses representing all facets of the collision repair industry team up to repair and donate vehicles to individuals and families in need of reliable transportation. Since the inception of the NABC Recycled Rides® program in 2007, members of the National Auto Body Council® have donated more than 3,500 vehicles valued at some $50 million.

Additional partners in the NABC Recycled Rides® presentation included Riverside Metro Auto Group, Toyota of Riverside, R&R Dents and Repairs, Superior Replacement, Advanced Remarketing Services, Cars for Charity, Copart, and Enterprise.
