The NABC Recycled Rides® Presentation Took Place Recently in Stillwater, Minnesota.
PORT CHARLOTTE, FL (January 13, 2025) – On January 8, a new father from Coon Rapids, Minnesota experienced a life-changing event – the presentation of a vehicle to provide him independence and the ability to meet his baby’s needs – thanks to the National Auto Body Council Recycled Rides® program along with car donor GEICO and collision repair partner CARSTAR.

Maurice Wilson recently became a father. He has been fortunate to be able to borrow a truck from his boss to take the baby to appointments and to get rides from co-workers sometimes, but he has been without a family vehicle, until now. The NABC Recycled Rides® 2023 Nissan Altima will make it possible for him to get to work and to save money he has been spending on ride shares. Wilson will be able to search for better housing and a better paying job.
CARSTAR, part of the Driven Brands family of automotive brands, is North America’s largest franchise network of independently owned and operated collision repair facilities with more than 700 locations in 35 states and 10 Canadian provinces.
Joel Hansen, CEO of the Zerwas group of CARSTAR collision stores, explained why his company became involved in this NABC Recycled Rides® donation: “We were celebrating the grand opening of our Stillwater location, and we felt this was a good way to make an impact on the community we serve. We try to give back in any way we can, and we will definitely be involved in Recycled Rides again.”
Wilson was nominated for the NABC Recycled Rides® donated vehicle by the Urban League Twin Cities.
NABC Recycled Rides® is a unique program in which businesses representing all facets of the collision repair industry team up to repair and donate vehicles to individuals and families in need of reliable transportation. Since the inception of the NABC Recycled Rides® program in 2007, members of the National Auto Body Council® have donated more than 3,500 vehicles valued at some $50 million.
Additional partners in the NABC Recycled Rides® presentation included A-Condition Wheel Service, Kline Nissan, LKQ, asTech, Central Automotive, Frankie’s Towing, Advance Auto Parts, Cars for Charity, Advanced Remarketing Services, Copart and Enterprise.
