PORT CHARLOTTE, FL  (August 7, 2024) – A single mother from Zieglerville, Pennsylvania experienced a life-changing event –the presentation of a vehicle to provide her critically needed transportation–thanks to the National Auto Body Council Recycled Rides® program along with car donor GEICO and repair partner Aureus Auto Body.

Angela Moyer receiving her Recycled Rides vehicle

NABC®, GEICO and Aureus Auto Body presented a fully refurbished 2013 Hyundai Elantra to Angela Moyer, a single mother with two young children. The family has been dependent on shelters for housing and friends for rides since Angela’s broke down. Getting herself to her job and her children to appointments was a struggle. She has been searching for an apartment, but that has been difficult with no car and two babies.  Now, everything has changed. Not worrying about transportation means that Angela Moyer can concentrate on building a stable family situation.

NABC Recycled Rides® is a unique program in which businesses representing all facets of the collision repair industry team up to repair and donate vehicles to individuals and families in need of reliable transportation. Since the inception of the NABC Recycled Rides® program in 2007, members of the National Auto Body Council® have donated more than 3,300 vehicles valued at some $47 million.

“Aureus Auto Body is proud to partner with Recycled Rides to give back to our community,” commented Tom Bemiller, CEO of the Aureus Group. “By restoring vehicles, we’re not just fixing cars; we’re providing individuals with the means to achieve greater independence and prosperity.”

Additional partners in the NABC Recycled Rides® presentation included Conicelli Hyundai, Cars for Charity, Advanced Remarketing Services, Copart and Enterprise.
