PORT CHARLOTTE, FL (August 24, 2026) – This fall, NABC® and the Changing and Saving Lives Foundation® are taking a step in a new direction for fundraising, trading golf spikes for walking shoes in the unique new Steps to Change and Save Lives Challenge, to be held November 1 through 6, 2026, both in Las Vegas and virtually across the country.

NABC Steps to Change and Save Lives Challenge - Register Today

Whether industry members are getting ready for the biggest automotive aftermarket trade show or spending the week at home with their regular workout, they can lace up your shoes and capture their steps to change lives through the Steps to Change and Save Lives Challenge.

Every step participants take during the week of November 1 to 6, 2026, raises funds for the life-saving work of the Changing and Saving Lives Foundation® and the NABC Recycled Rides® program and NABC F.R.E.E.™ program. Companies can create a team and challenge their competitors for bragging rights, and individuals can compete for top honors. Winners will be announced at the end of the week. Plus, there will be prizes for top performers!

How It Works

Participation is simple. Industry members in Las Vegas or at home are already walking the steps each day and tracking them. So now, they can sign up to participate as a corporate team, with their friends or as an individual. Just select the pledge amount per step and complete the registration. Participants can check their progress daily on the leaderboard to see how they and their team are outpacing the competition. At the end of the week, each team’s and participant’s total steps will be calculated and their donation to the Changing and Saving Lives Foundation® will be processed. All donations are tax deductible.

Participation is easy:

  • Register to participate
  • Download the app to your device or save the link to your personal steps tracker page – you will receive the personalized link once you register for the event
  • Track your steps each day and log them into your steps tracker page
  • Check the leaderboard each morning to see how you performed against your colleagues, competitors and the industry
  • Tally your final steps and complete your donation!
  • Share your photos and results to showcase your pride in giving back to those in need

“The collision repair industry has always generously supported our efforts to give back to those in need, and we wanted to provide a new, unique way for them to be involved in helping veterans, military members, families and first responders,” said Tom Wolf, chairman, NABC® Board of Directors. “Everyone attending the Las Vegas event is already logging their steps and sharing their daily data with their colleagues, so this is a creative way to capture their enthusiasm and efforts for a good cause.”

Who It Benefits

Each year, the NABC Recycled Rides® program gifts some 250 vehicles to veterans, military members and families in need, helping them get to work, to school, to medical appointments and take care of their families. To date, the NABC Recycled Rides program has gifted more than 3,850 vehicles at a value of nearly $69 million. Through the NABC First Responder Emergency Extrication™ program, we train more than 1,500 first responders annually around the country – at no cost – on how to rescue accident victims from late-model vehicles. This advanced training cuts minutes from the rescue process, and gets victims to life-saving treatment more quickly. The program has trained more than 7,000 first responders since it began.

The NABC Changing and Saving Lives Foundation, a 501c3 organization, is committed to the goal of driving change for veterans, military members, first responders and families in need, while harnessing the power of the collective membership of the collision repair industry to positively impact communities where we live and work. As demand for NABC® programs like NABC Recycled Rides® and NABC F.R.E.E.™ grows, so do the needs for resources to manage these important programs. Being able to pursue grants, gifts and donations allows NABC to expand these programs to serve those in need and help communities where we live and work.

The Changing and Saving Lives Foundation Keys for Change program also helps drive funding for key programs.
