PORT CHARLOTTE, FL (September 9, 2026) – On Wednesday, September 9, a Minneapolis veteran received the gift of a lifetime—the donation of a beautifully refurbished vehicle that will allow his family to become more stable and fully realize the rewards of all their hard work.  The donation was made possible by the NABC Recycled Rides® program, car partners Allstate, and Raymond Auto Body, a member of the Certified Collision Group.

The presentation was made at the 3M™ Skills Development Center in St. Paul, MN.  The state-of-the-art 3M™ Skills Development Center is dedicated to teaching both body shop and front office staff the most updated processes from real-world experts, OEMs, and accredited partners.  3M™ provides training that can help shops, managers, front office personnel and technicians deliver quality repairs while maximizing efficiency, productivity, and the bottom line.

The North St. Paul American Legion #39 Honor Guard was in attendance to present the nation’s colors to begin the presentation.

The recipient was nominated by the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV).  Established in 1990, MACV operates as the state’s largest nonprofit solely focused on providing comprehensive support to veterans who are currently homeless or at imminent risk of losing their housing.

“3M™ has the privilege of hosting today’s event, where together with the NABC, Allstate, and Raymond Auto Body, we presented a deserving Twin Cities veteran with the keys to his independence,” said Shawn Prestegaard of 3M™.

A 2021 Jeep Cherokee, donated by Allstate and refurbished by the technicians at Raymond Auto Body, was presented to Diquan Sanders.  Heis an U.S. Army Veteran who served from 2015-2019 and was honorably discharged.  Sanders suffered a service-connected disability making daily life a challenge for himself and his family.  They arrived in Minnesota in the winter of 2025.  Given their limited resources, they were forced to stay in a homeless shelter to escape the cold.  Despite these circumstances, Sanders immediately found employment and has remained steadily employed since. He, along with his partner, also made it a priority to enroll their daughter in school to provide her with a sense of stability.  They were soon able to move into an apartment of their own near their daughter’s school.  However, finances are still very tight because there is no easily available transit to their jobs, a significant portion of the household’s income is spent on ride services.  This NABC Recycled Rides® vehicle will allow them to considerably cut their costs and allow them to become more stable and fully realize the rewards of all their hard work.  Sanders has worked hard to hold his family together despite their many challenges and will be very blessed by this gift of reliable transportation form the NABC Recycled Rides® program.

“I’m really appreciative to my family, MACV, the NABC, Allstate, 3M™ and Raymond Auto Body,” said recipient Diquan Sanders.  “This vehicle is more for my family…they have shown hard work and dedication plus having the mindset and the willpower to overcome all life’s obstacles.”

The vehicle’s trunk was stuffed with lots of gifts and gift cards for the Sanders family compliments of the employees of 3M™, as well as Raymond Auto Body and Enterprise.

Those in the community can support this life-changing program in two ways – donate to the program directly or donate their unwanted or non-running vehicle through the Changing and Saving Lives Keys for Change program. They will receive a tax donation for their contribution, and proceeds will help provide reliable transportation for those in need across the country – and in their community.

Additional partners in this presentation include: Copart, Enterprise, Advanced Remarketing Services and Cars for Charity.
