PORT CHARLOTTE, FL (September 26, 2025) – On Thursday, September 25, a beautifully refurbished vehicle was donated to a United States military veteran from Los Angeles. The donation was made possible by the NABC Recycled Rides® program, vehicle donor GEICO and repair partner MB Collision Group.

The vehicle, a 2019 KIA Soul, was generously donated by GEICO and refurbished by the technicians of MB Collision Group.  The presentation took place at the MB Collision location in Chatsworth, CA.

Raymond Holliday is a United States military veteran who used his military benefits following retirement to earn a college degree.  Finding no employment, he endured personal struggles and became homeless.  After five years of struggle, he began to turn his life around.  Holliday began working as a dishwasher and security worker.  Soon, he was able to find employment as a writing tutor at a community college’s veteran resource center.  Holliday currently lives more than 10 miles away from his place of employment and must endure three hours of travel on mass transportation to get to work.  His mother lives 70 miles away with his closest relative living more than 15 miles away.  This refurbished vehicle from the NABC Recycled Rides® program will allow Holliday to commute to his job more easily and spend time with his family.

The recipient was nominated by U.S. Vets.  U.S. Vets’ mission is to end veteran homelessness in the United States.  The organization was founded by veterans to serve fellow veterans and is the leading nonprofit dedicated to the work of helping veterans and their families transition from homelessness through tailored support to help them gain independence.

“Thank you to everybody, a big thank you to MB Collision and to GEICO, this vehicle looks like it just came from the factory,” said Holliday.  “Thank you very much to NABC Recycled Rides® and thank you to U.S. Vets for helping me get this vehicle.”

GEICO, a Level One partner of the National Auto Body Council®, has donated more than a thousand vehicles to people and organizations through NABC Recycled Rides, making it the largest car donor partner of NABC Recycled Rides.
