PORT CHARLOTTE, FL (July 26, 2026) – On Sunday, July 26, an Indianapolis young woman raced toward life’s victory lane with a life-changing gift — the donation of a beautifully refurbished vehicle as she moves from the foster system and plans her future. The donation was made possible by the NABC Recycled Rides® program, vehicle donor Allstate and repair partner Gerber Collision & Glass, with additional support from PPG and Enterprise.
The presentation took place at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway Pagoda Plaza prior to the green flag to start the Brickyard 400 Presented by PPG.
The recipient was nominated by Fire Fly Children and Family Alliance. They are a private, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in Indianapolis dedicated to strengthening local communities by empowering individuals and building healthier families.
“It is an honor to work with our partners at Allstate and Gerber to present a NABC Recycled Ride® that will change this young woman’s life,” said Tom Wolf, chairman of the board for NABC and Director of Business Development USCA for PPG. “Menajia Wright’s determination, motivation and spirit are inspirational, and we hope this vehicle helps her achieve all her dreams.”
A 2025 Chevrolet Equinox, donated by Allstate and refurbished by the technicians at Gerber Collision & Glass in Fort Wayne, IN, was presented to Menajia Wright.
“I am very excited and very happy to receive this vehicle,” said recipient Menajia Wright. “This vehicle is awesome, and everybody did a very good job. Thanks to everybody so much for all you have done.”
Wright is a part of the Dept. of Child Foster Services, and she has recently aged out of the foster home that she was living in and is living in an apartment on her own. She used all her savings to purchase a vehicle, and the vehicle became inoperable after a month. Wright is currently utilizing Uber for her transportation needs to get to and from employment, which is very expensive and prevents her from saving for another vehicle. A reliable vehicle from the NABC Recycled Rides® program will allow her to be able to get established and become independent. She has a history of steady employment and an excellent work ethic. She is enrolled in an educational career path program, and reliable transportation will eliminate her transportation barrier and will allow her to further prepare for her career. Through the Older Foster Youth Services, she will receive assistance with the vehicle registration and insurance for the first six months to help her continue to grow and prosper. Her growth through this program is proof that she is strong, resilient, and has a desire to work hard to achieve her goals to become an educated, employed, and independent member of her community.
Those in the community can support this life-changing program in two ways – donate to the program directly or donate their unwanted or non-running vehicle through the Changing and Saving Lives Keys for Change program. They will receive a tax donation for their contribution, and proceeds will help provide reliable transportation for those in need across the country – and in their community.
