Generous Collaboration Between Allstate, Crash Champions and NABC Recycled Rides® Changes a U.S. Navy Veteran’s Life on August 25

PORT CHARLOTTE, FL (August 26, 2026) – On Tuesday, August 25, a U.S. Navy veteran from the Houston area received a life changing gift—the donation of a beautifully refurbished vehicle which will allow him to attend doctor’s appointments and receive vital medical care. The donation was made possible by the NABC Recycled Rides® program, vehicle donor Allstate, and repair partner Crash Champions.
The presentation was made at the Crash Champions location in Pearland, TX. The recipient was nominated by the American Legion. The American Legion is the nation’s largest veterans service organization, dedicated to advocating for military veterans, service members and their families through community engagement and legislative support.
A 2019 GMC Sierra, donated by Allstate and refurbished by the technicians at Crash Champions in Pearland, TX, was presented to Bertram Jenkins. Jenkinsis a veteran of the United States Navy having served from 1995-1996. He was severely injured during his time serving our country. The accident has kept Jenkins from holding gainful employment and he has had to suffer through continuous rehab since 1996. This has led to many of doctors’ visits to ensure that he stays in in good health. His medical issues have caused financial hardship, and recovery has been long and hard. Jenkins is currently considered a 100% disabled veteran, and this NABC Recycled Rides® vehicle will allow him to continue with his medical appointments and live a life without dependence on others for transportation.
Those in the community can support this life-changing program in two ways – donate to the program directly or donate their unwanted or non-running vehicle through the Changing and Saving Lives Keys for Change program. They will receive a tax donation for their contribution, and proceeds will help provide reliable transportation for those in need across the country – and in their community.

Allstate, a Level One partner of the National Auto Body Council®, has donated nearly 400 vehicles to people and organizations through the NABC Recycled Rides® program, making it one of the largest vehicle donor partners of NABC Recycled Rides®.
Crash Champions, also a Level One partner of the National Auto Body Council®, has gifted more than 250 vehicles to people and organizations through NABC Recycled Rides®.
NABC Recycled Rides® is a unique program in which businesses representing all facets of the collision repair industry team up to repair and donate vehicles to individuals and families in need of reliable transportation. Since the inception of the NABC Recycled Rides® program in 2007, members of the National Auto Body Council® have donated more than 3,850 vehicles valued at some $69 million.
