PORT CHARLOTTE, FL (March 8, 2025) – On Saturday, February 28, three deserving Northern California residents in need received a helping hand – the presentation of a vehicle to provide them with independence and the ability to work and take care of their families – thanks to USAA for the generous donation of these vehicles, G&C Auto Body for the amazing refurbishment, the Crozat Family Foundation for selecting and vetting the recipients and the National Auto Body Council Recycled Rides® program along with its generous members.

The presentation took place at the G&C Auto Body in Sacramento.  The Crozat family, owners of G&C Auto Body, are well respected for their philanthropy and commitment to their community.  Shawn Crozat, CEO of G&C Auto Body, won the NABC Changing and Saving Lives Award in 2023.  The Crozat family has gifted more than 300 vehicles over the years, many with USAA and the NABC Recycled Rides® program.

“Three local residents were awarded reliable, life-changing transportation — something that can make an incredible difference for individuals and their families,” said Ashley Bodell, Program Manager for the Crozat Family Foundation.  “It was an honor to be part of this moment alongside USAA, NABC, and so many generous partners and to give to those in need.

The recipients were nominated by the Crozat Family Foundation.  The Foundation was established by G&C Auto Body founder Gene Crozat, has given back extensively to those in need.  What started as a “Car-a-Month” Giveaway” with local radio stations has grown into a foundation that provides support to individuals and families facing difficult circumstances.

USAA, a Level One partner of the National Auto Body Council®, has donated more than 150 vehicles to people and organizations through NABC Recycled Rides®. Founded in 1922 by a group of military officers, USAA is among the leading providers of insurance, banking and retirement solutions and serves 14 million members of the U.S. military, veterans who have honorably served and their families. Each year, the company contributes to national and local nonprofits in support of military families and communities where employees live and work.

G&C Auto Body is an I-CAR Gold Certified repair facility and is also a Level One member of the NABC. With 57 locations, G&C Auto Body is the largest family-owned multi-shop organization in the U.S. 

NABC Recycled Rides® is a unique program in which businesses representing all facets of the collision repair industry team up to repair and donate vehicles to individuals and families in need of reliable transportation. Since the inception of the NABC Recycled Rides® program in 2007, members of the National Auto Body Council® have donated more than 3,750 vehicles valued at some $67 million.
