PORT CHARLOTTE, FL (May 15, 2026) – On Friday, May 15, an airman stationed at Dover Air Force Base received a life-changing gift—the donation of a beautifully refurbished vehicle as he seeks to maintain his independence and support his continued growth. The presentation was made possible by the NABC Recycled Rides® program, vehicle donor Allstate, repair partner Caliber Collision and event partner Dover Motor Speedway.

The presentation took place at Dover Air Force Base in Dover, DE. The recipient was also nominated by the famed air base. Dover AFB is home to the 436th Airlift Wing (436th AW) of the Air Mobility Command (AMC), and the AMC-gained 512th Airlift Wing (512th AW) of the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC).

A 2021 Honda Accord, donated by Allstate and refurbished by the technicians at Caliber Collision, was presented to A1C Orville Smith who was recognized by Colonel Jamil Musa, 436th Airlift Wing Commander, and Master Sergeant Preston Wannamaker, who nominated him.
“This is nice, it’s amazing and I can’t thank NABC, Allstate, Caliber and everybody involved enough for this vehicle,” said recipient AIC Orville Smith. “This will allow me to continue my training and studies, get to the grocery store and help other airmen who need transportation.”
Growing up in Jamaica, he watched his parents struggle financially. Both his mother and father did not work so his grandmother would aid when she could with money and food. Around the age of five, his father migrated to the United States. Having gained citizenship, his dad began to assist him with his own immigration process to the United States. A year later, Smith graduated from high school, and the following year, he moved to the U.S. to join the Air Force. His transition was brief, as his enlistment began just five months after his arrival. Through hard work and determination, A1C Smith completed basic and technical training and is now stationed at Dover Air Force Base. This is Smith’s first time living on his own, and he is quickly learning to navigate independence. He is focused on being financially responsible, especially given his modest upbringing. He has been taking driving lessons twice a month to build his experience and is attending financial classes to learn about topics such as car buying, building credit, and investing. This refurbished vehicle from the NABC Recycled Rides® program will ensure A1C Smith continues living independently and has the freedom to continue his journey navigating a new country.
AIC Smith had an opportunity to visit Dover Motor Speedway after the event for his first NASCAR experience, thanks to support from Dover Motor Speedway. He and another airman had an opportunity to tour the track, visit the NASCAR Cup garage to see racecars getting prepped for practice and even made a visit to Victory Lane.
