PORT CHARLOTTE, FL (September 3, 2026) – On Thursday, September 3, a Lancaster, PA, veteran in need received a life-changing gift—the donation of a beautifully refurbished vehicle to aid in rebuilding her life as she cares for her family. The donation was made possible by the NABC Recycled Rides® program, the vehicle donor, GEICO, and Faulkner Collision Center, the repair partner.

The presentation took place at Faulkner Collision Center in Lancaster, PA, whose technicians repaired the vehicle. The recipient was nominated by the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs. The Department of Veterans Affairs’ mission is to fulfill President Lincoln’s promise to care for those who have served in our nation’s military and for their families, caregivers and survivors.

A 2023 Nissan Kicks SV, donated by GEICO and refurbished by the technicians at Faulkner Collision Center of Lancaster, was presented to Caitlyn Kelley. She is a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 2009 to 2013. What began as a path of service and duty in the military became the beginning of a long, painful battle. Following a traumatic incident while serving, Kelley returned home not just with the memories, but with invisible wounds—anxiety and PTSD. By 2024, she was homeless. Not just without shelter, but without peace, without clarity, without hope. Every day was a fight to survive, to protect her children, to hold onto any fragment of who she used to be before trauma and tragedy rewrote her story. Then something shifted. In November of 2024, Kelley’s parents, witnessing the weight she was carrying, reached out. They sent her a train ticket from Georgia to Pennsylvania, along with something even more powerful: belief. They reminded Kelley that she was not alone, that she still had a future. In the months that followed, Kelley began to rebuild from the ground up. She fought the emotional pain and regained custody of her son. She found work and with it, the confidence that she could provide for her family and stand tall again. And just recently, signed the lease to her very own apartment. Now, it is time to secure reliable transportation. This NABC Recycled Rides® vehicle will help her continue rebuilding her life and provide for her family.

Those in the community can support this life-changing program in two ways – donate to the program directly or donate their unwanted or non-running vehicle through the Changing and Saving Lives Keys for Change program. They will receive a tax donation for their contribution, and proceeds will help provide reliable transportation for those in need across the country – and in their community.

Atlanta Area Mother Receives a Refurbished Vehicle Thanks to Travelers, Wren’s Collision Centers and the NABC Recycled Rides® Program

PORT CHARLOTTE, FL (August 31, 2026) – On Thursday, August 27, an Atlanta area mother received a life changing gift — a beautifully refurbished vehicle that will ensure her children will receive the love and care they deserve. The donation was made possible by the NABC Recycled Rides® program, vehicle donor Travelers and repair partner Wren’s Collision Centers.

The presentation took place at the Wren’s Collision Center located in Canton, GA, a suburb of Atlanta. The recipient was nominated by The Children’s Haven. The Children’s Haven works to protect and support children and teenagers who have been impacted by family trauma, child abuse, or neglect.

“We want to partner with organizations and businesses that genuinely care about the communities we serve,” said James Wren, Owner of Wren’s Collision Centers. “When people are willing to contribute their time, resources, and expertise to help a family move forward, that is what community is all about.”

A 2023 Honda HRV Sport, donated by Travelers and refurbished by the technicians at Wren’s Collision Centers, was presented to Katrina Watkins. Sheis truly deserving of this gift of reliable transportation due to the numerous challenges and setbacks she has encountered and overcome throughout her life.

Watkins has struggled to afford a vehicle, which would assist her in commuting to work and transporting her children. Instead, Watkins has relied on rideshares and the support of friends for her transportation needs. Despite these difficulties, she remains committed to being the best mother and role model for her sister, whom she has taken guardianship of following their mother’s passing. Watkins continues to persevere through all her obstacles and consistently finds ways to do what is best for her family. She is a devoted mother, and her children have always been her top priority, ensuring they have everything they require, even amidst her life’s challenges. This refurbished vehicle from the NABC Recycled Rides® program will allow Watkins to continue working and caring for the ones she loves.

“I want to thank NABC, Wren’s Collision, Travelers and everybody who helped me to get this vehicle,” said recipient Katrina Watkins. “This is going to change my life so much. I’m forever grateful and appreciate it. It’s going to help me and my family a lot and I can’t wait to drive it.”

Houston Area Veteran Receives a Refurbished Vehicle Thanks to Allstate, Crash Champions, and the NABC Recycled Rides® Program

PORT CHARLOTTE, FL (August 26, 2026) – On Tuesday, August 25, a U.S. Navy veteran from the Houston area received a life changing gift—the donation of a beautifully refurbished vehicle which will allow him to attend doctor’s appointments and receive vital medical care. The donation was made possible by the NABC Recycled Rides® program, vehicle donor Allstate, and repair partner Crash Champions.

The presentation was made at the Crash Champions location in Pearland, TX. The recipient was nominated by the American Legion. The American Legion is the nation’s largest veterans service organization, dedicated to advocating for military veterans, service members and their families through community engagement and legislative support.

A 2019 GMC Sierra, donated by Allstate and refurbished by the technicians at Crash Champions in Pearland, TX, was presented to Bertram Jenkins. Jenkinsis a veteran of the United States Navy having served from 1995-1996. He was severely injured during his time serving our country. The accident has kept Jenkins from holding gainful employment and he has had to suffer through continuous rehab since 1996. This has led to many of doctors’ visits to ensure that he stays in in good health. His medical issues have caused financial hardship, and recovery has been long and hard. Jenkins is currently considered a 100% disabled veteran, and this NABC Recycled Rides® vehicle will allow him to continue with his medical appointments and live a life without dependence on others for transportation.

PORT CHARLOTTE, FL (August 22, 2026) – First responders from across the greater Milwaukee area donned their gear at 1Collision County Line in Menomonee Falls, WI, on Thursday, August 21 for a hands-on learning experience teaching them how to rescue accident victims from late-model vehicles – life-saving skills that are critical when minutes matter most, all thanks to the 1Collison County Line, vehicle donor Allstate and the National Auto Body Council® F.R.E.E.™ program. Genesis Rescue Systems provided the tools used by the instructors in the demonstrations.

Wisconsin first responders from these units gathered at a special NABC F.R.E.E.™ education and guidance program recently to help ensure drivers in the region get the best prepared response in case of an accident.

Today’s vehicles are equipped with numerous airbags, advanced technology and innovative safety systems that keep drivers safer in case of an accident. But these same safety advantages make it harder for first responders to rescue those drivers and passengers. Add to that the potential challenge presented by electric and hybrid engines, and first responders need a whole new arsenal of rescue tools and procedures.

The growing popularity of high-voltage hybrid and electric vehicles and the many safety concerns surrounding these vehicles makes this program a necessity. Alternative fuel systems present different challenges when first responders arrive at the scene of an accident. Electric cars, hybrid cars and natural gas vehicles have fuel systems that pose dangers for first responders if the need arises to “cut” the vehicle for rescue.

The NABC F.R.E.E.™ program (First Responder Emergency Extrication) is a National Auto Body Council® initiative providing free, hands-on training for first responders to practice extricating victims from modern vehicles. It focuses on navigating high-strength steel, advanced airbags, and electric vehicle technology, often using salvaged vehicles.

“With the changes in the way that car manufacturers are putting in high strength steel, boron, ultra-high strength steel, all that kind of stuff, it has become a major challenge for rescuers to reach someone who becomes trapped inside,” said Ronnie Carr, a rescue specialist with Municipal Emergency Services who led Thursday’s training. “We’ve got to up our game with the tools that we’re using to be able to cut through the high-strength steel.”

“There’s been a lot of changes in the industry,” said Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad Chief Ned Sherburne. “The pressures [for cutting and spreading tools] have changed, which has allowed them to have smaller cylinders in them, which makes them lighter, in the last 10 or 15 years…battery technology has really become big too. Sometimes an older hydraulic tool is better, sometimes a newer battery tool is better. It’s just we need to pick the right tool for the right job.”

PORT CHARLOTTE, FL (August 20, 2026) – On Wednesday, August 19, two deserving Dallas-area veterans experienced a life-changing event – the presentation of a vehicle to provide them independence and the ability to work and care for their families – thanks to the National Auto Body Council Recycled Rides® program along with vehicle donors Allstate and repair partners Crash Champions.

The presentation was held at the Crash Champions Regional Office located in Richardson, TX. At the event, two fully refurbished vehicles donated by Allstate and refurbished by Crash Champions were presented to two veterans in need. (full bios below):

“Crash Champions has supported NABC Recycled Rides® by repairing hundreds of vehicles since the inception of the program,” said Chris Hernandez, whose two locations of technicians refurbished the gifted vehicles.

A 2018 Jeep Wrangler was presented to Tiffany Clark, who was nominated by Freedom Mobility Foundation. Sheis a veteran of the U.S. Navy who served from 2015 to 2024. After completing nine years of military service, she was medically discharged, and has limited mobility, requiring a wheelchair for longer distances. She needed a 4×4 truck that can safely transport her, her son, two wheelchairs and service dog. This vehicle, refurbished by Crash Champions, was also adapted to her needs through the Freedom Mobility Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created to restore mobility for active military service members, veterans, first responders, and people with physical impairments so that they can freely live their lives to the maximum extent that technology allows. This refurbished vehicle from the NABC Recycled Rides® program will ensure Clark has suitable transportation for her and her family.

“Thank you to Crash Champions for fixing this vehicle for me, for Freedom Mobility and Mobility Works for the adaptations, and to the NABC® and Allstate for providing the vehicle,” said recipient Tiffany Clark. “This will be life-changing for me to be able to fit two adults, my son, my service dog and my wheelchair in a single vehicle. This will also help me be able to get to my college classes.”

Robert Naylor, a U.S. Army veteran, receiving his 2021 Chevrolet Silverado

A 2021 Chevrolet Silverado was presented to Robert Naylor, a U.S. Army veteran that was nominated by Tarrant County College. He grew up in rural Texas in a close-knit community. Raised by a single mother, he learned early the value of resilience and responsibility. As a junior in high school, Naylor made the life-changing decision to join the U.S. Army. He served eight years in the Army as a 92A, Automated Logistics Specialist. His time in the service profoundly shaped him, instilling discipline, accountability and a clear sense of purpose. Ultimately, he transitioned to civilian life carrying forward the structure and work ethic the military had given him. Today, Naylor works part-time while attending college full-time to support his family. He views education as another pathway for self-improvement—much like the military was for him. This transition, however, came during an incredibly difficult period in his life. His mother, who had always been his rock and greatest inspiration, passed away after a battle with cancer. Naylor played a significant role in supporting her through her illness, an experience that deeply affected him. Watching the strongest person he knew fight so fiercely left a lasting impression and strengthened his resolve to continue bettering himself in her honor. This vehicle from the NABC Recycled Rides® program will allow Naylor to continue his education and live up to the promise his mother believed in so much.

“I just want to thank you to everyone involved in making this happen,” said recipient Robert Naylor. “This really has been a life changing experience for me, and I really appreciate the opportunity to be here.”

“It is wonderful to see all these partners come together as part of the NABC Recycled Rides® program, to provide a hand-up to our veterans when it is needed,” said Tim Bates, Chairman of the NABC Military Affairs team and a veteran himself. “The collision industry is full of many generous companies and individuals and we are proud of our members who contributed to this event.”

PORT CHARLOTTE, FL (August 19, 2026) – Recently, a U.S. Army veteran from West Fargo, ND, received the gift of a lifetime — a beautifully refurbished vehicle to help him continue caring for his disabled daughter. The donation was made possible by the NABC Recycled Rides® program, vehicle donor Farmers Insurance® and repair partner ABRA Auto Body, part of the Driven Brands family of automotive products.

The presentation was held at the ABRA Auto Body located in Moorhead, MN. The recipient was nominated by Cass County Veterans Services. Cass County Veterans Services serves over 11,000 individual heroes and their families by assisting them with their specific needs and confirming eligibility to open the door to all the benefits that go along with serving in the United States Military.

A 2022 Honda Pilot, donated by Farmers and refurbished by the technicians at ABRA Auto Body, was presented to Stanley Mitchell.

“This is a very beautiful feeling to tell you the truth,” said recipient Mitchell. “I have a really appreciative feeling knowing that there’s people out in the community, friends really, that think of me this way.”

Mitchell is an honorably discharged U.S. Army Veteran who served as a Cavalry Scout in Germany from 1988 to 1991. During his military service, he met his wife, who also proudly served our country. Tragically, she passed away several years ago from service-connected conditions, leaving Mitchell to navigate life as a widower, while serving as the primary caregiver for their disabled daughter. Following the loss of his wife, Mitchell was forced to sell the family home because he could no longer afford the mortgage. Despite these significant life changes, he has remained focused on providing a safe, stable, and supportive home for his daughter. She must attend frequent medical appointments, making reliable transportation essential to their daily lives. This refurbished vehicle from the NABC Recycled Rides® program will be life-changing for this family and will allow Mitchell to continue being the devoted father and caregiver his daughter depends on while maintaining access to the healthcare they both require.

PORT CHARLOTTE, FL (August 19, 2026) – On Tuesday, August 18, an Orlando area veteran received an unforgettable gift—the donation of a beautifully refurbished vehicle which will allow him the freedom and independence to better manage his daily life. The donation was made possible by the NABC Recycled Rides® program, vehicle donor Allstate, and repair partner Community Collision Centers.

The presentation was made at the Community Collision Centers in Leesburg, FL, as part of an open house celebration of their new location. The recipient was nominated by Find, Feed & Restore. Find, Feed & Restore offers multiple housing solutions for homeless families with children including housing first, affordable housing and homelessness avoidance.

A 2022 Honda CRV, donated by Allstate and refurbished by the technicians at Community Collision Centers of Leesburg, was presented to Christopher Allen.

“I haven’t driven in almost five years, and I can’t believe how nice this vehicle is,” said recipient Christopher Allen. “This is very special because I volunteer every day to help others, but no one has ever helped me in this way.”

Allen is a veteran of the United States Army having served from 1981-1985. He has not had a reliable vehicle for a while and is desperately in need of one to ensure the care he deserves. Currently, Allen must walk or use a rideshare to make his appointments. This NABC Recycled Rides® vehicle will mean more than just convenience. It will be a way of helping Allen get around to his doctors’ appointments and run household errands, but it will also be a way for the community to honor his service to our country.

PORT CHARLOTTE, FL (August 6, 2026) – On Thursday, August 6, Camryn Holder, a nursing student from Bowling Green, KY, received the gift of reliable transportation — a beautifully refurbished vehicle that will help her as she continues her education and pursues her career. The donation was made possible by the NABC Recycled Rides® program, vehicle donor Allstate and repair partner Gerber Collision & Glass with support from Enterprise.

The presentation, sponsored by Pinnacle Financial Partners, took place at the Pinnacle Financial Partners flagship office located in Bowling Green, KY. Pinnacle Financial Partners, which is a level one member of the NABC, provides a full range of banking, investment, trust, mortgage and insurance products and services designed for businesses and their owners and individuals interested in a comprehensive relationship with their financial institution.

“It is an honor to host today’s NABC Recycled Rides® presentation at our Pinnacle location here in Bowling Green,” said Dan Harbison, regional president, Bowling Green, for Pinnacle Financial Partners. “Our goal at Pinnacle is to always connect and serve our community and I can’t think of a better way to do that than to provide the gift of reliable transportation to this young nursing student from right here in Bowling Green. We wish her all the best with her new vehicle and on her future in the medical field.”

The Honorable Judge Doug Gorman, Warren County Judge/Executive, was in attendance and made remarks in support of the partnership between the Bowling Green community and Pinnacle Financial Partners. He also presented a proclamation honoring the day’s event.

Holder was nominated by the Kentucky Community and Technical College System. The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) is a statewide network of 16 community colleges spanning over 70 campuses across Kentucky. Headquartered in Versailles, KY, this system serves as the state’s primary provider of postsecondary education, online learning, and workforce training, enrolling over 100,000 students annually.

A 2019 Kia Sportage LX, donated by Allstate and refurbished by the technicians at Gerber Collision & Glass, was presented to Holder. She is a first-generation college student at SKYCTC, enrolled full-time in the RN nursing program who is exceptionally hardworking, driven, and intelligent. Holder is also pursuing her BSN through the University of Louisville LPN-to-BSN program. By taking on an increased academic workload, she is positioning herself to graduate with her bachelor’s degree shortly after becoming a registered nurse—demonstrating her ambition and long-term commitment to the nursing profession. Holder works full-time as an LPN on a neuro/med-surg unit to gain valuable clinical experience while maintaining above-passing grades in both programs. She pays her personal expenses independently. Her parents are quite below the poverty line and are focused on supporting her younger siblings, leaving her without financial assistance. Despite this, she has taken out minimal student loans due to her awareness of long-term financial burden and her determination to remain financially responsible. Reliable transportation has become her greatest barrier. Holder must commute daily to class and travel to clinical sites that can be up to 70 miles away. Her current vehicle is highly unreliable—it often fails to start in warm weather, leaks during rain, and has an exhaust issue that allows fumes into the cabin, posing both safety and health risks. This directly impacts her ability to meet the strict expectations of punctuality and reliability required in nursing school and clinical practice. Holder’s journey reflects resilience and determination. She graduated high school with two associate degrees while coming from a low-income household and navigating changes in her living situation during middle school. This refurbished vehicle from the NABC Recycled Rides® program will not only support her current success but also directly contribute to her ability to continue her education, grow in her nursing career, and ultimately give back to her community in a meaningful way.

“This vehicle means reliable transportation for me, it means getting to and from work safely, as well as getting to school without any issues,” said Holder.
